Antica Productions has another win to celebrate! Last month, the Santa Fe International Film Festival honoured Ni-Naadamaadiz: Red Power Rising with the Best Documentary Feature Jury Award. Antica is proud to have supported co-producer, Indigenous production company Makwa Productions, in bringing this incredible story to life.
Ni-Naadamaadiz: Red Power Rising tells the little-known story of how, in 1974, Anishinaabe youth seized Anicinabe Park in Kenora, Ontario, marking one of the first land-back occupations in Canadian history. More than 50 years later, this documentary reveals how the spirit of Red Power continues to burn strong.
Congratulations to director Shane Belcourt and the entire team whose dedication brought this documentary to life. Antica Productions is always proud to share stories that honour Indigenous voices and showcase the strength of Indigenous spirit to audiences worldwide.
